Eastern Conference

Quiksilver vs. Secret Agents
DIVISION 2

The Secret Agents have no answer Kenny Lee (26 Pts.  7 Rbs. 3 Asts.) and Quicksilver as they fall 84-53.

The absence of the teams leading scorer and rebounder Lonnie Bradshaw proved to be too much to over come for the free-agent squad. Darryiall Morris and Red San Miguel led Secret Agent players  with 15 points apiece,  Morris also recorded 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Lee Gellada rounded out the top 3 and finished  with 12 points.

Kenny Lee led all scorers  with his 26 point and  7 rebounds outburst . Harry Yoo finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds while  John Dang  recorded a quiet triple-double with 13 points 10 rebounds 10 assists,  Brandon Kinard finished with 12 points  to round out the top 4 scorers on Quiksilver.

Quiksilver (3-0) takes on the Fab 7 (2-1) in a week 4 match-up between the #1 and #4 ranked teams in the division.

The Secret Agents (2-1) return to action when they take on 5 Guys 1 Cup (1-2) in Week 4.

5 Guys 1 Cup vs. Diehards
DIVISION 2

5 Guys 1 Cup record their first W of the season by defeating the men of Diehards 50-45 in a closely contested game.

Alex Hernandez finished with a double double as he logged in 20 points and 10 rebounds.  No player besides Hernandez scored in double figures but two players (Josh and Jose Vasquez) finished with 8 points apiece. The win was crucial for 5 Guys as they are looking to go on some type of streak to make a run at a playoff berth.

The Diehards( 1-2) will take on a talented UKnow Squad (1-2) in Week 4.

While 5 Guys 1 Cup (1-2) will square of with the Secret Agents.

Fab 7 vs. Warriors
DIVISION 2

With the right personnel the Warriors cannot be stopped in this conference, the Fab 7 finds that out the hard way, Warriors take the game 50-43.

Fabian Armas finished with 19 points and 4 rebounds for the talented yet young and inexperienced Fab 7 squad.  Spencer Stueve is a rebound shy of a double-double and finished with  14 points and 9 rebounds. No other Fab 7 player scored in double-figures for the game.

Lester Cole led the Warriors in the scoring column and finished with 17 points and 5 boards. Like the Fab 7 who had a couple of players score in double figures, Cole was the only Warriors player to score 10+ for the game. Domo Cole and Kemoy Mathis assisted on the scoring load and chipped in 7 points apiece.

The Warriors (3-0) take on the (2-1) Eagles in Week 4.

The Fab 7 (2-1) square off the undefeated conference leading (3-0) Quiksilver team in Week 4 as they look to pull off an upset.

Tropics vs. Benchwarmers
DIVISION 2

The Benchwarmers  get back on the winning track as they defeat the winless Tropics in dominant fashion 73-50.

Rogelio Clemente led the Tropics with a 18 points and 3 rebounds, Manuel Bernal finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Danny and Sylvester contribute with 8 points apiece for the game.  Although the Tropics had balanced scoring, the real problem was on the defensive end.

Des F. recorded a game high with  26 points and his 4 rebounds shooting 4/6 from 3 point range. Sophand Soun finished the game as the second leading scorer with 16 points and 7 rebounds.  Charlie Iem finished with 14 points  and Randy Sam rounded out the top 4 with 8 points and 2 rebounds.

The Tropics (0-3) will take on  The Revenge (1-2) in Week 4 and hope to get their first win.

The Benchwarmers (1-2) will take the court in Week 4 to battle it out with Fly High (2-1).

Fly High vs. The Revenge
DIVISION 2

It seems that every week, Fly High ends up in a nail biter, the same can be said for their Week 3 match up when the took the court the battle THE REVENGE and came out with a 44-41 victory in OT.

For Fly High Jon McNair led the way and scored a team-high 15 points. Gabriel Smith led the team in rebounds with 11 but also contributed on the offensive end with 9 points.  Chris Hodgeman (8 points 8 rebounds) was a basket and two rebounds away from recording a double double.

The Revenge was led by Hassan Ahmed who finished with 14 points and 4 rebounds. He was the only Revenge player to see double digits in the game.  Salmaan and Adarsh finished with 9 points apiece and the teams leading scorer Max Andrade finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds.

Fly High (2-1) looks to carry on with their winning ways in Week 4 when they take on the (1-2) Benchwarmers.

The Revenge (1-2) look to get back on the winning track when they take on the winless (0-3) Tropics in Week 4.

UKnow  vs. X-Men
DIVISION 2

UKnow  struggled to defend and box out for the second straight week, the X-Men took advantage of the lack of defense and their latest acquisition Dante went off for 32 points and led all scorers and his team to a 66-48 victory.,

Anthony Cockrell led all UKnow players with 27 points and 9 rebounds ,  Byron Woods  scored 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds for his first double double of the season and Nate Apolonio rounded out the top 3 with 5 points and 5 rebounds. Lack of intensity put this game out of reach in the first half for this team.

The X-Men were led by Dante who recorded a double double with 32 points and 10 rebounds and seemed to be the spark the X-Men were missing.  Kevin Jackson benefited from the scoring of Dante and poured in 20 points to go along with 3 rebounds and Darren Bitterolff rounded out the top 3 with 10 points and 8 rebounds. The X-Men won the battle of the boards, UKnow had no big bodies in the paint.

The X-Men (1-2) take on the (1-2) #JETS in a week 4 pre rivalry game.

UKnow (1-2) hopes to regroup in Week 4 as they take on the men of Diehards (1-2)

Eagles  vs. #JETS
DIVISION 2

The Eagles continue their winning ways as the #JETS keep slumping, Eagles take the game 73-54.

Eric Imperio scored 18 points which tied for a game high. Giovanni Du Bose picked up where Imperio left off and finished with 16 points  and 5 boards,   Spencer Hersh logged 14 points, 8 rebounds and  Evin Imperio was the 3rd leading scorer with 12 points.  These guys were the offensive force behind the Eagles, who put this game out of reach.

For the #JETS Corey once again led the way as he tied with (Eric Imperio) for a game high in points (18) No other #JETS player scored 8 or more points besides David Bogle who recorded 8 points to go along with 6 boards. The #JETS have been on a two game skid since winning their Week 1 game.

In Week 4 the Eagles (2-1) take the floor to battle it out with the (3-0) Warriors.

The #JETS (1-2) have sort of pre rivalry match-up in week 4 when they take on the X-Men (1-2) who are coming off a huge win in Week 3.

Western Conference

Cali Raisins vs. Dream Team

DIVISION 2

Dream Team proves that they are indeed a contender, defeating  Double Dribble in Week 2 and now the Cali Raisins in Week 3 by a score of 59-51

Micheal S. led all scorers  with 22 points but failed to show up in any other statistical category, Malcolm G. was the second leading scorer with 13 points and 4 rebounds. Justin Benson and Demetre Smith rounded out the top 4 scorers with 9 points apiece.

The Raisins were led by their PG Jordan Ramos who finished with a game high 26 points and 8 rebounds.  Korey Davis was the second leading scorer as he finished with 9 points and 5 boards.  The Raisins were missing their perennial 3 point threat Matt Virata, so if these teams should come across again look for those 6 points to be made up.

Dream Team (3-0) now sit atop the division and conference, they take on West Cost (2-1) in Week 4.

The Raisins (1-2)  have hit a slump this season,  they take on H.A.M (0-3)  in their Week 4 match-up.

Wet Bandits vs. Toon Squad
DIVISION 2

The Toon Squad like the Dream Team is another new/old team in the Division that’s undefeated, they took the court to battle it out with the Wet Bandits and came away with a 57-46 victory.

Chris Powell (pictured above) led the way for Toon Squad and finished with  17 points and 4 boards Desmond Irenen assisted Powell with the scoring load and finished  with 15 points and 11 rebounds to record his 2nd double double of the season. No other Toon Squad player was even close to double digits. Although a few guys (Ashford Ball and Lawrence Stephens) finished with 6 points each.

Jeff Akune led the way for the Wet Bandits as he finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds  while Victor added 13 points and 2 boards,Nigel Leos and James Lim both finish the game with 8 points each but that proves not to be enough to defeat the Toon Squad.

The (0-3) Wet Bandits take on the (2-1) Happy Hour in Week 4.

The (3-0) Toon Squad will take on the (3-0) Southstars in a match-up with the two undefeated teams.

West Coast vs. Wonton Soup
DIVISION 2

Although the game was close throughout the first half, the second half is when the champs ceased control of the game and put it out of reach, after a second half scuffle Wonton Soup extended their 10 point lead to 20 and then to 30 and kept things rolling with a victory over the previously Undefeated WestCoast 68-38.

Larry Thompkins led the Wonton Soup with 21 points, 2 rebounds and an emphatic dunk to put his stamp on the game, assisting Thompkins was Aaron Sanchez who finished with 18 points and 6 rebounds, Robel Kevorkian rounded out the scoring trio as he finished with 10 points a 5 rebounds.  Wonton was missing their versatile PF Jaime Villalobos but managed to come away with a 30 point win, you can say that champs are on the road to a 3-peat.

Now on the other side of things for West Coast they were led by Zeke Benedetti aka (Nico) who finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds, Anthony Barajas finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds but fouled out early in the second half, so his presence was severely missed. No other player scored over 5 points for West Coast.

West Coast (2-1) moves on to face the young legs of the undefeated (3-0) Dream Team in Week 4.

Wonton Soup (2-0) renew their rivalry with Double Dribble (2-1) in a pivotal Week 4 match-up.

Southstars vs. TTB
DIVISION 2

TTB proves to be no match for the Southstars who come away with a 69-59 win.

Trayvonn Booker  scored 24 points to go along with 9 rebounds  for the Southstars. Jimmy Nguyen assisted Booker with the scoring load and finished with 14 points and 2 rebounds shooting 4/10 (%40) from 3 point range.  Jose 13 points (3/8 from downtown) and Gus 10 points (2/5 from downtown) were the top scorers for the Southstars in this one.

Although they lost TTB had a very potent and offensive minded attack 4 of their 5 players scored in double figures. Patrick Suiciano (29 Pts. 7 Rbs.) led the way for his team, Spencer Chyon was the second leading scorer and finished with 22 points and 4 boards, Andrew Esparza recorded a double double (12 Pts. 10 Rbs.) and Adam Musavvir rounded out the top scorers with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

TTB (0-3) will take on The Bankers (0-2)  in Week 4.

The (3-0) Southstars are set to play the (3-0) Toon Squad in a Week 4 match-up between the two undefeated teams in the conference.

Dictators vs. Do Work

DIVISION 1

Do Work manages to squeeze out a close game and defeat the Dictators 42-39.

Andrew of the Dictators led the way  with a total of 11 points and 9 rebounds. Sheriff and Craig determined to not shelter the scoring load only on Andrew’s shoulders; they finished with 7 points apiece. Last weeks leading scorer Sam had a slightly less fulfilling performance compared to his previous week and rounded out the scoring trio with 8 points.

Adam led the way for Do Work in the scoring column and he finished with, 16 points and 6 rebounds. Dominic  finished with 11 points  while Ronnie rounded out the top 3 with 6 points, having a mediocre shooting performance, going 2-8 from the field.

The Dictators (0-3) take on Speed Kills (0-3) in a match-up between two winless teams. One of these teams will be going home with a W this Sunday.

Speed Kills vs. STAT

DIVISION 1

STAT opened the game on a 15-2 run and never looked back , they came out fired up and pulling out to a 25 point lead by the half. The men of Speed Kills battled it out all game but it was not enough as STAT came away with a 72-46 victory. The game  showed how dominant STAT could be if they played with that passion and intensity weekly.

Newly acquired free-agent Darryial Morris led the way for his new team as he recorded 17 points and 3 rebounds, while team GM Tony El-Asar  finished the game with 9 points and 4 boards going 1-5 from beyond the arc. Di’mon was the third leading scorer as he finished with 7 points to round out the scoring trio.

For the STAT team Danny Longmire led the way with 19 points, 18 rebounds.  Brandon Kinard finished with 18 points and 5 boards and Robel Kevorkian rounded out the top 3 with 17 points and 9 rebounds. If this was any indication on how dominant this STAT team could be, the rest of the Division should really keep on them.

STAT (2-1) takes on another playoff bound team/ undefeated Do Work (3-0) in Week 4.

Speed Kills (0-3) look to record their first win of the season when they take on the (0-3) Dictators.

IBall vs. Morningwood

DIVISION 1

I Ball proves to be no match for the 3 time champs Morningwood as the seasoned vets  pull out the W  61-44.

Tony Bell notched  a team-high 12 points and pulled in 12 rebounds to record his 1st double-double of the season. Mike chipped in 10 points and  7 rebounds after a stellar Week. 2 performance where he finished with 13 points.  Damion rounded out the scoring trio and  finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds.

Dewayne O’Neal was the key for Morningwood in this game, he was a big body that IBall could not seem to contain, he finished with 19 points, 7 rebounds and a MONSTER DUNK (pictured above). Marcus Pringle had one of his better games of the season and finished with 10 points shooting 2/6 from beyond the 3 point line.  Along with Pringle were Rich Cobarrubias and Diahnte Pickett who also finished with 10 points apiece. Cobarrubias shot 2/8 from downtown while Pickett did most of his damage in the paint shooting %50 on 4/8 shooting.

The Champs now move on to Week 4 where they will square of with (3-0) Knicee.

I Ball (1-2) takes on a young but seasoned team in Fly Society (1-2) in Week 4.

Canyon City Basketball vs. Knicee

DIVISION 1

Canyon City Basketball proves to be no match for an undefeated Knicee team and their latest acquisition Jesse Jimenez. Knicee comes away with an easy 75-50 win to stay atop the division.

Jesse Jimenez was the leading scorer for  Knicee as he finished with 20 points. John Dang finished with 7 rebounds and 17 points and Richard Hak rounded out the scoring trio with his 17 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Division 2 Power Rankings

Eastern Conference

#1 Warriors (2-0)

The Warriors are back to their Season 3 form (their only playoff season) Kemoy Mathis and Lester Cole have led this team to a 2-0 start. If they can have every key player show up to the games this team has a shot of taking the conference by storm.

#2 Fab 7 (2-0)

The Fab 7 have an effective post game, but when it comes to long-range, their 4/28 shooting as a team through 2 games will not cut it, if they want to contend with the higher scoring teams in the division.

#3 Secret Agents (2-0)

Leading scorer Darryial Morris and Lonnie Bradshaw helped keep the Secret Agents undefeated record alive for now. After a strong Week 1 performance from the free agent team, they found themselves vulnerable in their  Week 2 game, they came out with a W  but improvements from the charity stripe could help close the gaps against future opponents.

#4 Quiksilver (2-0)

Quiksilver is off to a hot start and is making a name for themselves in Season 5. Leading scorer – Harry Yooh is a walking double double(if he could get more minutes) who averages 12 ppg and 7.0 rpg. They have yet to show any true weaknesses and is aiming straight for the top seed in this season’s playoff race.

#5 #JETS (1-1)

The #JETS dominated in Week 1 but met their match in week 2 and came away with a loss. This team is inconsistent and it shows through 2 games.

#6 Eagles (1-1)

The Eagles are on the rise and they’ll be looking to shoot the lights out in Week 3, they’re best player Vince Pryor comes off the bench and provides a much-needed spark for this team.

#7 Fly High (1-1)

After a Week 1 loss to UKnow, the Fly High squeezed out a victory over the Tropics  in Week 2. Unlike most teams who choose to shoot from downtown,  Fly High is one of the teams who prefer to set plays around the paint area. A pass first team and unselfish plays from teammates will help this team Explode to the top.

#8 The Revenge (1-1)

The Revenge dominated in Week 1 but in Week 2 ran into a hungry Secret Agents team. Multiple defensive breakdowns throughout the game gave their opponent numerous opportunities to make a come back.  The Revenge needs to regroup quickly or a loss in Week 3 will set them back with a 1 – 2 record. Losing is going to get Old really quick for a team as talented as The Revenge.

#9 UKnow (1-1)

After a come from behind victory in Week 1, UKnow tried to play catch up to the Eagles in Week 2 though their run fell just short. This team should try playing with the lead and not the deficit.

#10 Diehards (1-1)

The Diehards had a great Week 2 game against a youthful team and came away with a victory.

#11 5 Guys 1 Cup (0-2)

The team’s weakness lies within the defense – ranked in the bottom 5 in points allowed. There’s no Secret that this team can score, but if they can’t contain their opponents from scoring, other teams will come out Victorious.

#12 X-Men (0-2)

The X-Men were dominated in Week 1. & forfeited in Week 2. I wonder if this is any indication of how their season will be.

#13Benchwarmers (0-2)

This team doesn’t lack chemistry, but they need find a way to execute their game plan better.

#14 Tropics (0-2)

Lack of contribution from the starters and bench has led this team to a 0-2 record.

Western Conference

#1 Dream Team (2-0)

Dream Team controlled their Week 2  game against Double Dribble for the entire 40 minutes. Strong defense accompanied by a high-powered offense makes DT a team that’s going to be hard to beat. Dream Team has many weapons and can hit you from any angle if one is not ready.

#2 West Coast (2-0)

West Coast is one of those under the radar type of teams, theyre 2-and are rolling.  Anthony Barajas 16.5 ppg and Nico 14.5 ppg lead the way for this team.

#3 Southstars (2-0)

The Southstars took care of business in Week 2 with Jose shooting 12/24 from 3 point land in his 2 games. The Southstars are my sleeper pick to take it all.

#4 Toon Squad (2-0)

Lawrence Stephens has assembled a team worthy of cracking the top 5 in the rankings again. This team is very young, but they’re growing week by week. A blowout victory in Week 1 followed by a resilient win over the Raisins in Week 2 has this team dripping confidence for week 3.

#Wonton Soup (1-0)

The Champs open the PR at #5 because they had a week 1 bye,  however in Week 2 they came out ready to play, but a rookie Wet Bandit team matched the champs basket for basket and Wonton Soup escaped with a 5 point 55-50 win.

# Happy Hour (1-1)

Happy Hours’ most dangerous weapon, Reuben Medina, has yet faced a team that is able to slow him down. Happy Hours biggest strength is their ability to attack the paint.

#California Raisins (1-1)

The Raisins find themselves in the bottom of the rankings for the first time in 2 1/2 months. The Raisins lost a close game in Week 2 after winning a close game in Week 1 However, the Raisins biggest strength lies within their defense. The team’s defense help keep things close and manageable.

#8 Double Dribble(1-1)

Entering Week 2,Derrick & Diahnte Pickett came in with a combine average of 46 points, but were only able to walk away with 33 combined against the Dream Team. The team did not commit many turnovers, but couldn’t score enough or stop their opponent from scoring. The team needs to bounce back quick or a 2-game losing streak could have this team free-falling into Trouble.

#9 Brea Jr. 7:30 (1-1)

Brea Jr.  got ran out of the gym in Week 1 by the top ranked Dream Team but rebounded with a close win over the #13 ranked H.A.M in Week 2.

#10 Wet Bandits (0-2)

The Wet Bandits are the highest ranked 0-2 team, they’ve shown that they can score with the best and their two losses have come by a combined 7 points.

#11 TTB (0-2)

Against top teams, the TTB need to attack their opponents on the inside and avoid theperimeter shots. That is what has put them in the 0-2 hole to start the season.

#12 The Bankers (0-1)

The Bankers needs attack the basket and Strike early if they want come out with a W.

#13 H.A.M. (0-2)

H.A.M’s team chemistry continues to improve week to week. They’ve just had a rough schedule so far. The young legs of Toon Squad and Brea Jr. 7:30 in Week 1 and 2 has left this team near the bottom of the ranks. Look for a strong game from their leading scorer Jason Harvey in Week 3 and H.A.M to come away with their first win

#14 3 Point Layups (0-2)

The team can score and limit their turnovers against most opponents. However, their weakness lies within their inability to grab rebounds and limit other teams from scoring. 3 Point Lay-Ups will continue walking down the same losing path if they continue to allow second chance points in the paint.

Division 3 Power Rankings

Division 3

#1 Minnesota Tenderloins (2-0)

The Tenderloins are the only undefeated team in the Division, The team chemistry is unbelievable. This team lacks size in the front court, and give up many offensive boards, however the guard play is excellent.

#2 Pantera Legends (2-1)

Two blowout victories in Week 1 was followed by a loss in Week 2. The Legends seem to be the favorite to take it all after 2 weeks. Lets see how they perform in Week 3.

#3 Prospectz (1-1)

The Prospectz are the youngest team in the league and it shows for the first two weeks. They got their first win in Week 2, and it wasn’t a pretty one. Lack of defense down the stretch (2nd half) is the team’s main weakness. Team captain and leading scorer Nathan Apolonio needs more help on offense and defense. Reaching the playoff after starting 1– 1 is not impossible, but the window of opportunity is slowly closing in. Time to put in Work.

#4 Warriors (1-1)

Domo Cole leads this team in scoring a rebounding. They were out executed in week 1 by an adequately prepared Minnesota Tenderloins team, but rebounded in Week 2 to get their first victory of the season. If this team wants to record anymore wins, they should begin by avoiding the 3 point shot.

#5 Junior Varsity (0-2)

Junior Varsity could very well be the best 0 – 2 team. They started off the season with a rough Week 1 matchup but the future for this team seems promising.

#6 Garbage Time (0-2)

Garbage Time appears to struggle the most compared to all the teams in the league. The team needs to find a way to break the 40 point barrier for a chance to win. The chemistry is there on the court, but it lacks fire and intensity. This team doesn’t seem bothered after 2 straight losses. Someone needs to step up quick to avoid an 0 – 3 start.

I Ball vs. Do Work

DIVISION 1

I Ball almost pulls an upset over veteran team Do Work but the seasoned vets find a way to pull away late behind the sharp shooting of Donte Smith and pull out the W as Do Work  defeats I Ball  77-65.

Adam led the way for Do Work in the scoring column and he finished with, 18 points and 10 rebounds. Edwin and Aaron Singleton finished with 16 points apiece while Donte Smith rounded out the top 4 with 14 points, having his worst shooting performance going 3-10 (30%) from behind the 3 point line.

Steven Sanchez notched  a team-high 21 points and pulled in 7 rebounds, Wilson Fiallos chipped in 20 points and  9 rebounds.  Mike finished with 13 points and 3 rebounds, while D finished with 11 points.

Speed Kills vs. Canyon City

DIVISION 1

For the second consecutive week Speed Kills took the court to battle it out with a rookie team to the IBL, Canyon City. The game was a nail bitter but in the end Canyon City  came away with a narrow 55-54 win.

Tony El-Asar led the way for his team as he recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Dimon also finished with 15 points and 2 boards going 3-10 from beyond the arc. Rassan was the third leading scorer as he finished with 8 points to round out the scoring trio.

Travis Campbell went to work in the 2nd half and he finished with 21 points, and 9 rebounds. Marlo Valencia knocked down 2 three-pointers and finished with 16 points.  While Carl Agcamaran rounded out the scoring trio with his 12 points shooting 4-14 from the field.

STAT vs. Morningwood

DIVISION 1

STAT garnered an early advantage in the first half, coming out fired up and pulling out to a 15 point lead, but behind a strong second half behind Derrick Pickett and Dewayne O’Neal the Champs found a way to pull the W out, defeat STAT 56-50.

Anthony Fitzpatrick led STAT with 14 points, 10 rebounds.  Danny Longmire finished with 12 points and 13 boards and Anthony Cockrell rounded out the top 3 with 7 points and 4 rebounds.

Dewayne O’Neal was crucial down the stretch as he grabbed key rebounds, he finished with a double-double, 13 points, 14 rebounds. The Pickett Brothers (Diahnte and Derrick) were really the story of the game as they dominated the paint with countless layups, they both finished with 14 points apiece to guide the defending champs to a season opening victory.

Washed Up vs. Knicee

DIVISION 1

The veteran Knicee team took care of business over a promising but Rookie squad  Washed Up  , 73-53.

Richard Coombs led Washed Up with 26 points, 9 rebounds.  Mike Criscione finished with 3 rebounds and he was the second leading scorer with 9 points.

Marcus Angeles was the leading scorer Knicee and he finished with 22 points. John Dang had 8 rebounds and finished with 13 points and 5 assists.  While Odell Howard rounded out the scoring trio with his 11 points shooting 4-4 from the field.

1. Morningwood (2-0)

The CHAMPS Morningwood defeated STAT for the second time in 5 weeks. Solid defense (allowing only 50 pts) and even distribution of the ball allowed the team to dominate the second half.

2. Do Work (2-0)

The Former Champs Do Work had to play catch-up against IBall in Week 2, but a strong defensive stance in the end helped the team pull away with the victory.

3. Knicee (2-0)

Knicee created a lot of buzz around the league by beating the Dictators with a 6’1 and under roster in Week 1(for the most part). The team is ranked 4th in total defense (in terms of points allowed) and #2nd in offense

4. I Ball (1-1)

I Ball is looking to be the bully on the block, but so far they’ve had predictable performances, a blowout win over Speed Kills and a blowout loss to Do Work, this team is in between and I have yet to see a defining performance from this team.

5. STAT (1-1)

STAT‘s inability to get rebounds ultimately hurt the team’s chance of staying close in Week 2. Anthony Fitzpatrick kept it close with his cuts to the basket and easy lay-ups but 36 rebounds for the entire game is not going to cut it against most teams. STAT  needs to box-out or they’ll be out rebounded in Week 3.

6. Fly Society (1-1)

Fly Society did not dwell over their Week 1 nail-biting 1 point loss and quickly got back to Work in Week 2 defeating the Dictators. Fly Society has a lot of explosive weapons and their leading scorer (through 2 games) – Ralph Chavez, averages 12 ppg and is 9th in rebounds with 10.5 rpg.

7. Canyon City Basketball (1-1)

In Week 2, Canyon City scored a season high of 55 points, just one point enough to seal the victory. For Week 3, the team will have a shot at pulling its first upset when they square off against the #2 ranked 2-0 team Knicee.

8. Speed Kills (0-2)

For Week 3, Speed Kills  will need to put more points to counter their defensive struggles. They scored a season high 54 points last week in a loss, but have allowed 107 points in their first 2 games. A strong defense should be this team’s main concern entering Week 3.

9. Dictators (0-2)

The Dictators are just missing that second piece behind Tongun, to be a viable threat in the division.  Their first loss a 61-59 nail bitter to Knicee really shows how this team can score, but defending is the problem, lack of guard play really is the down fall for this team.

10. Washed Up (0-2)

Washed Up had only 6 players in their IBL début (Week 2), but finished strong in both games regardless of the outcome.

“You guys barely lost without Jairo, what would have happened if Jairo showed up?,” asked a league official.

“Wouldn’t have been close, that’s not even a question. They won by 1 but we blew them out when we played them. We won by 2” responded the Fly Society’s GM (Desean Collins).

Missed free throws were the biggest problem for Fly Society as the went 5-18 from the free throw line. Jaime Villalobos was 1-for-4 from the line  and he finished with a double-double, 14 points, 14 rebounds. Although Fly Society seemed to have dominated the boards , they lost the rebounding battle 39-32 as Ralph Chavez grabbed 9 rebounds and he finished with 14 points.
