One more week of the regular season is left, and every seed is up for grabs. Week 6 had its fair share of ups and downs, but every team that was predicted to be victorious did just that.

Three teams battling it out for the #1 seed are Double Dribble, the reigning champions Wonton Soup, and last seasons runner up Quiksilver.

There will be a very controversial tie for the #1 seed  if all teams win out on Sunday.

Controversial because

  • Quiksilver defeated Double Dribble
  • Wonton Defeated Quiksilver
  • Double Dribble Defeated Wonton

All teams are tied at 5-1 and the tie breaker will go to the team with the largest point differential.  So they key to this Sundays games are to win and win BIG!

 

X-Men vs. UKnow

DIVISION 2

After blowing a double-digit lead late early in the second half in large part to their second unit being subbed into the game, UKnow manages to get it together as they defeat the X-Men 73-59 in their second match-up of the season.

Jordan “Mr.Double-Double with Cheese” Block led all scorers for the game with  36 points and 12 rebounds. Byron Woods assisted Block with the scoring load and finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and dished 2 assists out. Jimmy Nguyen rounded out the scoring trio with 10 points and 3 assists.

Darren Smith led all X-Men scorers for the game with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Smith was the lone catalyst behind a run that cut the UKnow lead to 1 (57-56) late in the second half. Deante Smith finished with 15 points and tied for a team high in rebounds with 9 boards. Chris Smith rounded out the scoring trio with 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. 



#JETS vs. Secret Agents

DIVISION 2

Without the services of their leading scorer Joe-Joe the #JETS falter and come up short to the Secret Agents who come away with a 82-54 victory.

With the absence of their leading scorer Joe-Joe, Anthony was thrusted into the role of the “go-to” player for the #JETS, he finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. Kenny finished with 12 points, and 4 rebounds. Matt rounded out the scoring trio with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Ricky Figueroa was a notable performer for the #JETS, he finished with 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, a near triple-double in the loss.

The Secret Agents had a very balanced offensive attack, Darryial Morris, Terrail Thomas, and Teron Mack led the Secret Agents in the scoring column, the trio finished with 16 points apiece. Morris pulled in 11 boards and dished out 3 assists, while Terrail “T-Time” Thomas finished with 3 assists and 3 steals. Deandre Baxter finished with his first double-double, after a 14 points and 13 rebounds performance.  Lonnie Bradshaw rounded out the scoring load with 13 points and 4 rebounds.


Quiksilver vs. 5 Guys 1 Cup

DIVISION 2

Quiksilver dominates 5 Guys 1 Cup, 72-55. Even without the services of the teams leading scorer and post presence, Quiksilver comes away with a big win.

 Quiksilver was led by Anthony Barajas who finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds. Brandon Kinard finished with 17 points and 7 assists. Richard Hak and Justin rounded out the top scorers with 15 points apiece. Hak also recorded 5 assists and 3 steals, while Justin pulled in 11 rebounds as well as 5 assists.  Domo Criss was a notable performer for the team, Criss finished with 7 points and 13 rebounds.

5 Guys 1 Cup, had a very balanced offensive attack with Jhoaun finishing with a team high, he logged in 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists. Castro assisted Jhoaun finishing with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Alex Hernandez was the third leading scorer with 10 points and 6 rebounds.



Wet Bandits vs. Han$um Goonz

DIVISION 2

The Wet Bandit pull out a close game over the Han$um Goonz, in a 60-58 win that went down to the wire, this is the second game in 2 weeks that the Han$um Goonz have lost by 2 points.

Avant Foster (22 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals), Aaron Bell (15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) Odis Wishum (8 points, 10 rebounds) were the top 3 performers for the Goonz. 

Brandon Parham and Nigel Leos led the Wet Bandits in the scoring column, both players finished with 16 points apiece. Parham pulled in  9 rebounds while Leos managed to grab 6 of those boards. Both player’s dished out 4 assists. Assisting Parham and Leos was Demetrius Watson, Watson finished with 8 points and 3 rebounds. James Lim and Brett Miyamoto rounded out the scoring quintet finishing with 7 points apiece.



DX vs. Warriors

DIVISION 2

The Warriors take care of DX by sending them home with a 0-6 record after a 64-35 beat down.

Pierce Mayoral finished with a team high, he logged in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Chris McKeon also finished with 7 points and 8 rebounds.  Chris Mayoral rounded out the top scorers with 6 points and 8 rebounds.

Kemoy Mathis had a monster game for his team. He led the Warriors in the scoring column and finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds. Rahsaan Oliver was the teams second leading scorer with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Adam Merjil finished with 9 points to round out the top performers for the Warriors, Merjil was on track for a big game but an injury forced him to sit out the majority of the game. 


Double Dribble vs. Happy Hour

DIVISION 2

Double-Dribble takes care of Happy Hour in a 64-56 win. Happy Hour now falls to 0-6 and are tied with DX for the Divisions worst record. The two teams will battle it out in Week 7. While Double Dribble has an opportunity to snag the #1 seed with a Week 7 win and help from a few other teams.

Andrae “Liddo Man” Lockett  led all Double Dribble scorers with 16 points shooting 5/10 from the field. Diahnte “D-Smooth” Pickett assisted his teammate and finished with 13 points, and 2 steals. Giovanni Valentine and Derrick Pickett rounded out the top 4 scorers with 12 points apiece. Valentine pulled in 5 boards while Pickett pulled in 8 rebounds.

Reuben Medina led the way for Happy Hour, he  finished with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Pierre Recinto assisted Medina with the scoring load and finished with 15 points and 5 boards. James Reyes rounded out the top 3 scorers, he finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds.


UKnow vs. Wonton Soup

DIVISION 2

Wonton Soup handles UKnow, 69-54 in the Game of the Week. UKnow was without the services of their leading scorer Jordan Block (32.2 ppg, 12.3 rpg). The closest UKnow got was within 8 points early in the second half, following a string of 3 pointers. They just could not stop the rebounding and fastbreaks of Wonton Soup namely Aaron Sanchez.

 Aaron Sanchez was the teams leading scorer with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Jamaal Logan and finished with 14 points and 3 rebounds. . Jaime Villalobos rounded out the scoring load with a near double-double finishing with 9 points and 9 boards.

Anthony Cockrell led all UKnow scorers for the game with  17 points and 9 rebounds. Jimmy Nguyen assisted Cockrell with the scoring load and finished with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Jonathan Redmond and Byron Woods rounded out the scoring trio with 9 points apiece. Woods pulled in 6 rebounds while Redmond pulled in 11 boards.
