Sick of hearing that this is the “weak” division the Secret Agents have stocked up a roster full of talent and look to storm through the division, but the Han$um Goonz have the potential to play spoiler. With week 1 out-of-the-way the top two teams seem poised enough to hang on to the top 2 spots for the duration of the season.
5 Guys 1 Cup vs. DX
DIVISION 2
5 Guys 1 Cup, get there season started off the right way, coming away with a 40-35 victory over newcomers DX.
Mike Fernandez led DX with 9 points and 7 rebounds, Chris McKeon finished with 8 points and 12 rebounds, Pierce Mayoral rounded out the scoring trio with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Waldo finished with a team high, he logged in 12 points and 2 rebounds. Alex Hernandez assisted Waldo and finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds shooting 3/14 (21%) from the field. Ricky was the third leading scorer for the team and finished with 9 points and 12 rebounds.
Warriors vs. Secret Agents
DIVISION 2
The Secret Agents show why they are the team to beat in the division and come away with a 72-55 win over the Warriors.
Terral Thomas proved to be too much for the Warriors to contain he led all scorers with 23 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, Teron Mack and Rudy were the teams second leading scorers, both individuals finished with 12 points. Lonnie Bradshaw finished with 10 points and Darryial Morris rounded out the scoring quintet with 9 points and 6 rebounds.
Lester Cole led the Warriors in the scoring column and finished with 15 points and 12 boards. Jorge Gerardo assisted Cole and finished with 6 points and 15 boards. Ray Sanchez finished with 10 points on 5/8 shooting from the field. Domo Cole finished with 9 points and 6 rebounds to round out the top performers for the Warriors.
Han$um Goonz vs. #JETS
DIVISION 2
The most unexpected game of the day would have to be the match-up with the Han$um Goonz and the #JETS, the Goonz came out determined and with a game plan, their were points in the game where they began to use a press, they did what had to be done to come away with a win, the final result a 71-19 romping of the #JETS.
The #JETS had three players finish with 6 points each, Anthony, Simon Dewhurst, and Kenny, Simon and Kenny also had 7 boards to go along with those 6 points. Ricky Figueroa was absent in the scoring column, he finished with 0 points, and 7 boards.
Odis Wishawn Jr (17 points, 4 rebounds) Avant Foster (14 points , 6 rebounds) and Keyon Benjamin (12 points, 4 rebounds) were the top 3 performers for the Han$um Goonz..
X-Men vs. The Revenge
DIVISION 2
The Revenge manage to squeeze out a tight one over the X-Men and come away with a 58-53 win.
The X-Men were led by Sergio Marquez who finished the game with 22 points and 11 rebounds shooting 4/12 from 3-point range. Deante Smith finished 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Oscar Pacheco rounded out the scoring trio with 9 points and 3 rebounds.
The Revenge was led by Armondo who finished with 15 points, 3 rebounds,Max Andrade and Derrick Okoth were the teams second leading scorers they finished with 11 points apiece.Adarsh Ghadi rounded out the top 3 scorers with 8 points and 5 rebounds.
