Nates Notes | Week 4 | Game of the Week | The Pack vs. The Dynasty

The Dynasty (2-1)  vs. The Pack (1-2)

The Division 1 game of the week took place at OHS in Week 4 when Dynasty met The Pack in an 8pm showdown in a rematch of last seasons semifinal game. The game remained close throughout, however in the end Dynasty made key plays and came away with a 67-57 win.

Luke Finalet led the way for The Pack with a game high 28 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.  The young man was the scoring punch The Pack needed, Finalet also shot 7/16 from 3 point range. If and when he gets hot, he stays hot, in only his second season in IBL play he has proven to be one of the better pure shooters in the Division. While Finalet was knocking down 3 pointers, George Lewis was going to work down in the low post. Lewis finished with 14 points and 4 rebounds, on 6/9 shooting a very efficient game for an undersized player at his position.  After getting off to a hot offensive start in the opening weeks of the season, the teams PG Brandon Kinard, cooled off considerably in his Week 4 game. Kinard shot 4/9 (44%) from the field but made an impact in other areas for his team. Kinard finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and was a thief in his own right, coming away with 3 steals.

On the other side of the ball, The Dynasty having a somber start to the season, entered the game with hopes to get back on the right track and regain their edge and they did just that. Led by Tray Caples who finished with a team high 24 points, 5 rebounds and dished out 2 assists the Dynasty used their athleticism to their advantage. Jaye had a very nice all around game finishing with a double-double, 10 points, 10 rebounds 3 assists and 2 steals. While Alex rounded out the scoring load with 8 points and 3 assists.

This was a great win for a Dynasty team that is struggling to find an identity this season. After losing in the championship game last season, I thought the Dynasty could come back and potentially give Washed Up a run for their money again, but lack of significant roster improvements have hindered the team thus far. We’ll see how the second half of the season treats them.

The Pack on the other hand, had a really swell season in Season 6 and started off the season with a win in Week 1 but have since dropped 2 straight. This team is poised to be a force in the Division with the addition of Brandon Kinard at the point guard spot. Look for The Pack to make a bigger impact in the second half of the season.
