IBL | Season 4 | Week 6 Recap

H.A.M – Regulators

H.A.M makes little work out of their opponent as they dominate the Regulators in a 30 point romping. 77-47

H.A.M was led by Kenny as he finished with a team high 25 points, 2 rebounds. Eddie assisted with the scoring load and added 22 points and 6 rebounds.  Jose added 12 points and 13 rebounds to complete the scoring trio that dominated the inexperienced Regulators.

After their heart breaking loss to the Cali Raisins in Week 5, the Regulators returned to action looking for a victory to rebound on. They did not find such thing; they ran into an experienced H.A.M team who was ready for the abrasive young bunch.  Ashford B.  led all Regulator players with 17 points and 2 rebounds while Brandon T. added 12 points and 5 rebounds. No other Regulator player was close to double digits.

H.A.M:77

Regulators:47

Wonton Soup – Double Dribble

After lighting up the opposition in Week 5 with their hot 3 point shooting, Wonton Soup was on the opposite end of  the hot 3 point shooting when they took on Double Dribble in a rematch of the Season 3 Division 2 Championship game.

Wonton Soup was led by Jaime Villalobos as he finished with a team high 18 points and 5 rebounds  assisting Villalobos was  Matt Achucarro who chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds.  The rest of Wonton Soup was ineffective shooting 10/27 from the field.  They fell in a hole early and could not get out.

Double Dribble’s attack  fueled by their drive and kick style of play.  They shot 15/24 from the 3 point line and had a stretch in the second half where they could not miss.  Jerry Jimenez led all Double Dribble players with 24 points and 6 rebounds while Geo V. added 21 points and 4 rebounds. Diahnte Pickett rounded out the top 3 team scorers for the high-powered offense of Double Dribble as he finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Beyond The Arch – Thunder

Thunder can’t stop leading MVP candidate Justin Benson of Beyond the Arch and fall in stunning fashion.

After two straight lackluster performances which resulted in losses Justin Benson awoke from his shooting slump and put on a 3 point clinic in his Week 6 game against the Thunder.  He had  his best shooting performance going 5/12 from 3 point land and finished with 28 points and 11 rebounds.  Jamel Benson was really the story for Beyond The Arch as he finished with a season high 21 points and 3 rebounds.

The Thunder had no defensive answer for the Benson Bros. early in the game but Anthony Cockrell and Xavier Goss managed to be an answer on the offensive end as they combined for 39 of the teams 54 points. Domo Beebe added 8 points and 6 rebounds but that just wasn’t enough to get their team over the hump.

Beyond The Arch:75

Thunder:54

Soak City!  vs. Bulls

Soak City no match for the Bulls as they run through them early and record a 30 point win.

Soak City’s leading scorer for the game was Rashad C. as he finished with 15 points going 5/10 from the field. Eric I. finished with 13 points and 1 assist. Those were the two bright spots for Soak City! in the blowout.

The Bulls had very  balanced scoring as they  had 4 players in double figures ; Drew finished with a team high 21 points Antwon Blocker had 18 point and 7 rebounds. Cedrick finished the game with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Mike V had 10 points and 4 rebounds.

Cali Raisins vs. Smash Bros.

The ‎California Raisins pull out another close victory to push their record to a flawless 6-0

This was the big game for both teams,  #1 Cali Raisins vs. #3 Smash Bros. with the #1 spot on the line. Both teams gave their all and in the end the Raisins outlasted the Smash Bros. and proved that they are indeed the best team in the division.

The Smash Bros. were led by Corey and Ray as the both finished with 13 points apiece, Julius and Jed added 10 points apiece while Jed finished with 8 points to round out all scorers for the Smash Bros. a turnover on the final possession cost this team the game.

For the Raisins Jordan Ramos led all scorers 16 points and 3 rebounds, Kwasi Mensah added 13 points and 6 rebounds and Kevin Chow rounded out the top 12 with his 10 points.

Cali Raisins:56

Smash Bros.:54

The Raisins look to finish the regular season in Week 7 with a perfect 7-0 record.  They’ve  clinched the #1 overall seed for the division in the playoffs.

Fly Society – STAT

After Weeks off   speculation  STAT took on their Division 1 counter parts Fly Society in an overtime thriller it came down to the final moments but ultimately Fly Society prevailed and come out with a 57-55 win.

STAT was led by Robel Kevorkian who finished with a team high 16 points and 5 rebounds. Danny Longmire assisted with 9 points and 9 rebounds  and big man J’Quandrei Ellis rounded out the top 3 with  6 points and 4 rebounds .

Fly Society had most of their scoring done by the combination of Jairo Lopez , Jaime Villalobos, Robert Aguilar and Ralph Chavez.

Jairo Lopez  finished with a game high 18 points as he was the go to man for Fly Society all game he also hit a clutch 3 point shot that sent the game into overtime.  Robert Aguilar had a quiet 10 points and 3 rebounds Jaime Villalobos also added a quiet 13 points and 8 rebounds and Ralph Chavez  finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds to round out the scoring load.

Fly Society:56

STAT:54

Blu Dream – Do Work

Do Work makes little work of the Blu Dream as tempers flare late in the game.

Do Work was led by Donte Smith who finished with a team 18 points. Drake Walker added 11 points and 7 rebounds  while Aaron W. finished with 9 points.

praise Odo Boms finished with a team/game high 20 points and 12 rebounds. Lalo C. was the teams second leading scorer with 14 points 4 rebounds

Do Work:55

Blu Dream:42

Knicee– Dynasty

Dynasty and Knicee cross paths with Dynasty walking away unharmed.

Knicee was led by Odell Howard 16 points 10 rebounds, John Dang who finished with a team high 13 points and 8 rebounds, Alvaro Nunez was the teams third leading scorer and he added 14 points and 3 rebounds. Although the scoring was balanced Knicee only had 4 players.

Dynasty finished with all 5  starters  in double figures Rich Cobarrubias with 17 and 4 , Derrick Pickett with 14 and 8,  Diahnte Pickett with 13 and 5, Dewayne O’Neal 11 and 7 and Jose Vasquez with 15 and 4.

Power Rankings | Week 5

#1 Do Work (5-0)

With a 4 game win streak on the line, the men of  Do Work went into their Week 5 match-up with the A-Team with a very short roster. Last Seasons Finals MVP Kenneth Ubom took over the game offensively; he was a force on the offensive end as he dropped an amazing 44 points and helped guide his team to a narrow 77-74 victory over the A-Team. He also garnered POTW honors, Do Work is the only team in the Division to have clinched a playoff berth heading into the final 3 weeks of the season. They are clearly the best team, and their play shows it.

#2 Knicee (4-1)

After a Week 4 blowout at the hands of Do Work Knicee finally had a full roster intact heading into Week 5 as they hosted the A-Team in their first game of  their double-header. The A-Team forfeited the game which led to Knicee’s only game of the day against the last place team Hard in da Paint.  Knicee dominated from start to finished and captured an easy 57-37 victory. To increase their record to 4-1.

#3 STAT (3-2)

After their Week 4 match-up with Primetime, this team found out its last flaws and improved on them in Week 5 against the former 2 time division champions Dynasty. This young team can match-up well with any team because of their height and quickness. Their Week 6 match up with Fly Society will prove to be crucial seeing as both teams are tied with a 3-2 record and are fighting for a Top 4 spot because no one wants to play Do Work in the first round of the playoffs.

#4 Dynasty (3-2)

A short-handed Dynasty team almost pulled out a close game in Week 5 over the #3 ranked STAT but late free throws clinched the game for STAT and left Dynasty wondering what the end result would be if their big man Dewayne O’Neal would have shown up.  His presence is crucial for this teams success and it showed in Week 5.

#5 Fly Society (3-2)

After another 0-2 start, this team seems to have found their stride winning their last 3 games. They survived a 38 point performance by Troy Allen of Primetime to escape with a 9 point victory. They now head into a Week 6 match up with #3 ranked STAT for bragging rights and most likely a tie breaker for one of the top 6 spots in the playoff race.

#6 Speed Kills (3-2)

Speed Kills? 3-2? What! Despite my previous comments about this team missing the playoffs in my previous rankings, they have proved me wrong. Speed Kills could really be a sleeper pick to upset a few teams. They have the best 3 point percentage in the division and are very composed in late game situations, seeing as they have captured two 1 point wins this season. The season is half over and they look poised to make their first playoff run.

#7 Dictators (2-3)

After a great 2-0 start this team has dropped 3 straight. Their last L coming to Speed Kills in a 58-57 thriller which ended when a player from the Dictators failed to make the go ahead basket. This team is still in Playoff contention but the light at the end of the tunnel seems far away because their schedule does not look too favorable in these upcoming weeks.

#8 Primetime (2-3)

Primetime has only impressed me once this season and that was in Week 4 when they played STAT. Troy Allen had a mere 34 points and garnered POTW honors but their two guards combined for 30 points and proved to be crucial in that Week 4 win. In Week 5 against Fly Society however their guards could not get into an offensive rhythm and forced contested shots were taken.

#9 Blu Dream (1-4)

I really had high expectations for this team this season. They’ve let me down so far. 1-4 through 5 games? really? The GM of the Blu Dream assembled a really “Beasty” team with the height of Praise Odo Boms and the athleticism of Lonzo Board and Tyshawn Walker I felt this team would make some noise, that hasn’t been the case. Along with the other 1-4 teams this team struggles with personnel, you never know who’s going to show up for the games and that’s what kills them. Get it together Blu Dream I still believe in you.

#10 A-Team (1-4)

The A-Team has got to be one of the biggest disappointments this season, they entered in Week 2 giving Dynasty all they could handle and just killing the Speed of Speed Kills. Every game after that, the team has struggled with personnel. Get it together quick fellas or you will no longer be in playoff contention. You’ll just be looking to play the spoiler role.

#11 Hard in da Paint (1-4)

Hard in da Paint is ranked eighth in defense with 302 points allowed so far this season. However they recorded their first victory this past Sunday with a 1 point win over the Blu Dream. Things are finally clicking for them and as of now they’re still in playoff contention.

#1 Cali Raisins (5-0)

The Cali Raisins are ultimately the most exciting team to watch play, their chemistry is great and every week as someone looks to end their streak they fall. It would be nice to see them go undefeated into the Playoffs but we all know what happened last season when Double Dribble went 9-0 into the Championship game and lost, however that’s neither here or there I see a team on a mission and they wont stop until they get there. Their Week 5 victory over the Regulators just showed me how resilient of a team they are.

#2 Wonton Soup (4-2)

A 50-point victory in their first game of their Week 5 double-header over NBN was followed by a 9 point victory over the Thunder . Wonton Soup will see a better team in Week 6 when they play Double Dribble in a rematch of last seasons Division 2 Championship.

#3 Smash Bros (4-1)

The Smash Bros. started their season at the bottom of the rankings as they usually do and have just shot up to the #3 spot. This team can overtake the Raisins for the best record this coming sunday with a win.

#4 Lights Out (4-1)

Lights Out is off to a hot start and is making a name for themselves in Season 4 so far. They have yet to show any true weaknesses and will most likely secure a playoff spot .

#5 Hoop Dreams (4-1)

Solin Bit has his guys walking the walk and talking the talk. Hoop Dreams is a quiet 4-1 and have remained under the radar so far this season.

#6 Double Dribble (3-2)

Double Dribble is on the rise after their 2 losses and they’ll be looking to Cook that Wonton Soup in Week 6. With half of the season under their belt, they are looking strong and ready to take down the defending champions. The same champions which upset them in the Championship game last season.

#7 Regulators (3-2)

In Week 5, the Regulators stayed neck and neck with the Cali Raisins throughout the entire game, but fell a few points short for the win. The Regulators have anger issues and have this weird theory that everyone is out to get them. Besides that their biggest flaws were exposed in their week 5 match up with the Cali Raisins.  This team loves to hug that 3 point line, work the ball around and feed it to your Big man who is 6’1 3/4’s aka the biggest guy in division 2 height wise.

#8 Beyond the Arch (3-2)

After their 3-0 start this team has lost 2 straight and an almost certain playoff berth seems to be in jeopardy heading into Week 6. This team lives and dies by the 3 point shot. They lived 3 weeks and have died the past 2.

#9 3 Point Lay-ups(3-2)

Joe Dizon has the 3 point Layups poised for another playoff run. Theyre firing on all cylinders and with a win this sunday they’ll be one step closer to their return to the playoffs.

#10 Bulls (3-2)

After a Week 4 loss, the Bulls showed up in Week 5 ready to destroy a team and they did just that beating Quiksilver by 24 points and just out working them the entire game.

#11 Soak City! (3-2)

Vince P. and Junior Muntu have their squad in the Playoff picture but they can easily slip out with a loss. They’ve won 2 straight and look to carry on with their winning ways in Week 6.

#12 Southstars (3-2)

After their 1 point loss to the Thunder in Week 4 this team came back in Week 5 and took down CFB with a 67-59 victory. Trayvonn Booker is the team’s leader and leading rebounder and hands down one of the most ferocious rebounders in the division.

#13 Quiksilver (3-3)

This team doesn’t lack chemistry, but they need find a way to execute their game plan better. Being BLOWNOUT by 24 is not a good way to end start your week. They should rebound in Week 6 vs. whoever they play.

#14 Benchwarmers (3-2)

The Benchwarmers are another team flying completely under the radar. Their 3-2 record is a reflection of the type of basketball they’ve been playing.  They’ve shown up 3 games and have been absent for 2 of their 5.

#15 Thunder (2-3)

The Thunder is currently the strongest 2-3 team and their record and margin of victory is a reflection of their opponents’ strength.

#16 Prospectz (2-3)

The Prospectz are the youngest team in the Division and it showed for the first 4 weeks. Team captain and leading scorer Nathan Apolonio needs more help on offense and defense. Reaching the playoff after starting 1 – 3 is not impossible, but the window of opportunity is slowly closing in. Time to put in Work.

#17 Tropics (2-3)

After a nice 2-1 start the Tropics have dropped 2 in a row, a win this week will keep their playoffs hopes alive.

#18 H.A.M (1-2)

H.A.M in Week 5 almost witnessed an amazing come-from behind-victory. With the team down by a reasonable margin, Harry Yooh scored the game tying 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. H.A.M  however fell in OT to the Smash Bros.

#19 5 Guys 1 Cup  (1-4)

5 Guys 1 Cup recorded their first win of season 5 this past sunday when they put a hurting on the MLK Riders. This team is the best 3 point shooting team in the Division and sometimes they rely on that too much. Their Week 6 match up with the Prospectz should be filled with many jump shots.

#20 Warriors (1-4)

The Warriors could very well be the best 1 – 4 team. They started off the season with W and seemed poised to make a stronger run towards the playoffs, that hasn’t been the case this season, they’ve struggle offensively and like most of the other teams personnel has been an issue. I never know what Warrior team im gonna see until the opening tip.

#21 MLK Riders (1-4)

The MLK Riders seemed to be on the right track after they recorded their first victory in Week 2 but have since fallen off track losing 3 straight by double figures.

#22 Nothin But Nets (1-5)

There’s not a whole a lot of  good things going on with this team. The defense is ranked last in the league by allowing 372 points in six games.

#23 Uptown Fades (1-4)

Uptown Fades had moments of possibly making a comeback against the Prospectz in Week 5, but the defense could not hold up. The offense is ranked last in the league and needs to be addressed quickly if they want to keep things close in Week 6.

#24 Cashing Fat Bowls (0-4)

CFB  appears to struggle the most compared to all the teams in the league. The team has already found their new go to man with Bruce Chow taking over the game offensively but they lack fire and intensity.

Power Rankings | Week 4

#1 Do Work

Do Work  took care of business over a shorthanded Knicee team in Week 4. They were clicking on all cylinders and look poised to run the table until playoff time.

#2 Dynasty

Dynasty embarrassed a Dictators team who looked as if they would be a perennial powerhouse in the division in Week 4. Dynasty can pretty much beat any team with a full roster. Dewayne O’Neal is a force in the paint and with the agility of Derrick Pickett guards have a hard time defending this team.

#3 Primetime

Troy Allen! How can anyone stop this young man? He had an amazing game in Week 4 helping his team defeat STAT and garnered the POTW honors with his 34 point outburst. Aside from Allen the team has a guard tandem of Manny Rodriguez and Yung Dang who had their best game by far in Week 4 combining for 22 points with the majority of their points coming from behind the 3 point line.  This team is now riding a 2 game win streak and seem in a zone to secure a playoff spot.

#4 Fly Society

After an 0-2 start this team is back on track by winning their last 2 games. They handled A-Team with a short roster and managed to squeak out a win over the short-handed Blu Dream. They almost blew the game to the Blu Dream though. They were up the majority of the first half and played lethargic in the second half and left the door open for the Blu Dream to walk in…however they were fortunate enough that the Blu Dream did not capitalize on the opportunity.

#5 Knicee

It is amazing that this team is 2-2 they could easily be 3-1…1-3 or even 0-4. Their problem as a team is personnel. This team is really deep depending on who shows up to the games. In week 4 they had 4 players play against the defending champs…whomp! EPIC FAIL! This team better get it together in these upcoming or they may see their playoff dreams fade.

#6 STAT

I can see that this team has internal issues. They’ve only had one good offensive game as a group. This team alternates win’s and losses with the weeks. If the can ever get their big men to finish around the basket it would free up their perimeter players for wide open shots.

#7 Dictators

Apart from their blowout win over HIDP this team has been pretty average against teams that can match-up with them. They were outplayed in week 4 by Dynasty who just wanted the game more. Frustration set in for this team and that was all she wrote.

#8 Blu Dream

The Blu Dream is a very confusing team, at times I see spurts of greatness, I see a team that’s ready to take that big step into the divisions élite. However at times I see a team that doesn’t belong in the top 5 conversation.  They almost managed to steal a game away from Fly Society in Week 4 as they came up just short as a game winning 3 pointer from Deebo was shot just a tad bit long.  If their week 1 loss to Speed Kills was an indication of how this season is going to be, then the Blu Dream should be ready for a very long season.

#9 Speed Kills

Speed Kills pushed their record to 2-2 after their week 4 victory over HIDP.  Most people including me thought this team would be 1-3 or even 0-4 at this point in the season. However an opening week 43-42 victory over Blu Dream and a Week 4 Blowout win over Hard in da Paint has this team in a 6 way tie for 3rd place in the division and right in the playoff hunt.

#10 A-Team

BYE WEEK

#11 Hard in da Paint

Can Hard in da Paint get a W?! They have a unit that has been together for 4 seasons and their most successful season was Season 2 and even that season they didn’t make the playoffs. I say GM Domo Criss rebuild soon or they can just cement themselves in the 11th spot of the rankings. If at anytime they were poised to get a win this season it was in week 4 where they were blown out by Speed Kills.

#1 California Raisins

Cali Raisins vs. Beyond the Arch did not live up to its perceived “hype”. From tip-off Cali Raisins dominated the basketball game, they completely controlled every aspect of the game. They are the best/hottest team in the  division.

#2 Regulators

The Regulators are the hottest up n coming team in the division. They took out the defending champs in week 4 and like the Cali Raisins have a list of teams they’d like to play. This team is athletic and full of energy. Teams shouldn’t sleep on the regulators however as hot as they are I think they have many flaws and are beatable.

#
3 Smash Bros.

After their Week 2 loss to Southstars the Smash Bros. have made some significant roster moves by bringing in Julius and Corey and have since been unbeatable. They have the ability to get under the skin of their opponents with their skillful tactics on the court. In Week 4 they won both games of their double-header to push their record to 3-1. In Week 5 I would really enjoy a Cali Raisins Smash Bros. matchup.

#4 Wonton Soup

2 Words…. REALLY DISAPPOINTING! It seemed that this squad had finally gotten things together and were poised to make another run at a Division Championship. That wasn’t the case however as they were completely dominated in Week 4 by the Regulators. This team must get it together if it wants any shot at defending its title. The season is still young but come on fellas play like Champions.

#5 Double Dribble

2-2? This is the same Double Dribble team that went 9-0 a season a go before bowing out to the Flying Squirrels in the Championship game.  They’ve added two players in Geo V. and Diahnte Pickett that filled the offensive void of letting Hassan Ahmed go, however something is just not clicking with this team, They’ve already lost 1 more game than they did all of last season.  GET IT TOGETHER.

#6 Lights Out

Jimmy Nguyen did not have to have an all-star type performance in Week 4 as he did in Week 3 but Eric A. managed to pick up the slack for lights out and guided them to another victory. The scoring is very balanced this season with this team and they can really shoot the basketball, look for this team to start playing teams in the top 12 in the upcoming weeks.

#7 Quiksilver

Quiksilver rebounded from a terrible shooting performance in Week 3 to put a hurting on the Benchwarmers & Tropics in their double-header in Week 3 the team is playing swell at this point in time everyone has a role and plays it very well, aside from the scheduling gods giving them 2 easy W’s this team has yet to impress me.

#8 Thunder

The Thunder squeezed out a win over the Southstars in Week 4 behind Chris Johns and Xavier Goss. This team was riding a 2 game losing streak after their 111 point out burst in Week 1. It’s good to see this team get a W, hopefully they can build on this new-found momentum.

#9 Beyond the Arch

As I’ve said the past couple weeks, although BTA was winning games the quality in the wins just wasn’t their, in their week 3 match up with the Cali Raisins it showed what I had already known, if you live by the 3 point shot you die by the 3 point shot. For weeks this team was shooting the lights out while playing lesser opponents, they were shut down in Week 3 and suffered a 19 point loss.

#10 Hoop Dreams

Hoop Dreams pushed their record to 3-1 in Week 4 by defeating the very small line up of Cashing Fat Bowls. In the process of recording the W they allowed a CFB squad that’s not known for their scoring ability to score 56 points. If this team wants to keep up their winning ways I suggest they play some defense.

#11 Bulls

The Bulls edged out a close one while playing Double Dribble in Week 3 in the first game of their double-header but in their second game while playing the Smash Bros. they let their emotions get the best of them in that game and after a couple technical fouls the game was pretty much decided as the Smash Bros. collected all the momentum.

#12 Soak City

Soak City had a great Week 3 as they defeated 3 Point Layups 62-53. As great as the margin of victory was, the game wasn’t decided until the final minutes. Soak City has a great squad and a clutch go to player in Vince P. in week 5 they look to capitalize on their winning ways and go a game above .500 and make a mid-season playoff run, with a number of teams tied at 2-2 every game is crucial.

#13 Southstars

After good play in Week 1 & 2 the Southstars have come back after a couple of byes and played lethargic in their Week 3 loss to the Benchwarmers and their most recent loss to the Thunder in Week 4. The talent is their for this team they just have to capitalize.

#14 3 Point Layups

BYE WEEK

#15 Benchwarmers

The Benchwarmers played pretty much acted as if it was a scrimmage game when they played Quiksilver in Week 4 they got blown out by 22 points and the game was not close at all. GET IT TOGETHER!

#16H.A.M

BYE WEEK

#17 Tropics

The Tropics played a good game in Week 4 while playing Quiksilver but they just had no answer for John Dang. Their 2 game win streak ended and they look to start a new streak in week 5.

#18 Warriors

BYE WEEK

#19 Nothin But Nets

After a 0-3 start Nothin But Nets recorded their first victory over the Prospectz in Week 4.

#20 Prospectz

The Prospectz have been 0-3 since Week 1 & it does not look good for this team, a lot of isolation and bad shots are taken. It is absolutely ridiculous. The bright spots for this team are the rebounding of Joel Torres and Nathan Apolonio.

#21 MLK Riders

BYE WEEK

#22 Uptown Fades

Uptown Fades recorded another L after Lights Out shot the Lights Out in Week 4. Spencer Stueve needs another 38 point performance for this team to even get close to a W.

#23 Cashing Fat Bowls

AGAIN! I REPEAT Offense is nonexistent for this team, if they could find a way to score the basketball games would be some what close, their defense isn’t the best but they a small and quick and can keep up with the perimeter players, it’s the post play that kills these guys.

#24 5 Guys 1 Cup

5 Guys 1 Cup has seen their names falling in the rankings for weeks now, they’ve yet to record a win but continue to shoot the basketball well during games, they were blessed with a POTW performance by Dylan Liebelt but failed to record the W. Lets see what Week 5 brings.

Weekend WrapUp| Week 4

Week 2 HEADLINES

  • Wonton Soup Fall to the up n coming Regulators
  • Cali Raisins are the only undefeated team in the L at 4-0
  • Players of the Week

Wonton Soup  vs. Regulators

Regulators come out hustling from the opening tip and surprise Wonton Soup.

The game was fairly close in the first half with Aaron Sanchez carrying the Wonton Soup team on his back, but the Regulators found a way to defend him and was quickly eliminated as a scoring threat in the second half.

The Regulators had their best shooting performance of the season going 7-17 from 3 point range and by doing so created a big lead. Wonton Soup had no answer for Brandon T. who finished with 16 points and 4 rebounds. Akinola I. was the teams second leading scorer and the only other Regulator player to see double figures he finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Wonton Soup however kept themselves within distance of the Regulators  with their balanced scoring as they  had 2 players in double digits; Aaron Sanchez with 12 & Jaime Villalobos with 10. Robel Kevorkian finished the game with 9 points . They also had two players finish with 7 points each (Matt Achucarro and Trevor Sankey).

Although the team had a balanced attack the Regulators won because they wanted the game more, and it showed with them diving on the floor for every loose ball.

The final result

Regulators:66

Wonton Soup:52

Cali Raisins vs. Beyond The Arch

‎California Raisins take care of Beyond The Arch during the night-cap with a 69 – 52 Win. They stand atop of Division 2 as they stay undefeated at 4-0.

The Raisins came out very cold shooting horrible from the field but they got it together early in the second quarter and never looked back. Beyond the Arch had a terrible performance from its leading scorer Justin Benson who finished with 11 points and shot 1-12 from 3 point range. Besides the terrible shooting from BTA who shot 1-24 as a team from 3 point land, the Cali Raisins played an amazing game.

Matt Virata led all scorers 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, Kevin Chow added 16 points and 8 rebounds Korey Davis also had a 16 point performance and Kevin T. rounded out the scoring with 13 points and 11 boards.

BTA was led by Daniel Vargas who finished with a double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds while their leading scorer Justin Benson had a sub par game with 11 points. They were the only 2 players to score double figures for BTA.

The final result

Cali Raisins:69

Beyond The Arch:52

The Raisins are a win away from securing the first playoff berth this season.
