The first All-Star Invitational took place after a lengthy 3 Point Shooting Contest that had 18 participants from both IBL and LAB. Michael Tran from LAB took the crown with a sudden death 1 rack playoff in the finals against teammate Sergio Rosas; who was unable to connect after the exhausting previous 3 rounds.

The game got underway shortly after 4 pm, the atmosphere in the gym was electric with both teams eager to play and show that their league was superior. The young guns from the IBL managed to get out to an earlylead behind Anthony Cockrell who had  8 of the teams first 16 points.

LAB quickly matched the intensity of the IBL players, they started to attack the basket to draw fouls. Both teams took the first 12 minutes to get acclimated to what the others game plan was.  In the second quarter Antwon Blocker (IBL) 24 Points, 11 Rebounds, 44.60 PER started to take the game over. The IBL players got a tremendous lift from their reserves  Jason Trinh (IBL) 10 Points, 5 Assist, & Solin Bit (IBL) 8 Points, 6 Rebounds were huge contributors.

While Jesse Jimenez (IBL)  8 Points, 9 Rebounds and Robel Kevorkian 11 Points, 2 Rebound (IBL) were  connecting on their drive and kick game, Shelley Tch (LAB) 23 Points, 7 Rebounds and Ace Asparias (LAB) 26 Points, 8 Rebounds began to mount a furious comeback for the LA team. LAB took the lead late in the 3rd quarter and early in the 4th but the IBL team was resilient and would not go down. Every LAB run was answered by an IBL run. It was a great game throughout and thank you to all that participated. You are now enshrined in history as the first all-stars of your respective leagues.
