2011 SUMMER, SEASON 5

Eastern Conference

X-Men vs. Secret Agents
DIVISION 2

Rookie team X-Men  hit a brick wall in their IBL début, as the fell victim to the Secret Agents, 57-48.

Lonnie Bradshaw led all scorers with 18 points, 11 rebounds. . William Tosca finished with 11 points while Darriayl Morris flirted with a double double and finished  with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Lazonn Goff logged a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds while Kevin Jackson finished with 12 points, 3 boards. Alex Ochoa scored 10 points and led the rookie team with 1 three-pointer.

Tropics vs. #JETS
DIVISION 2

The #JETS handily defeated the Tropics, 57-32 as Simon Dewhurst finished with  19 points while Anthony Perez, , finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. David Garay finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds.  Dewhurst led the team with 5 three-point makes.

Rogelio Clemente led the Tropics with a near double-double effort, 21 points and 9 rebounds.

Joel Torres finished with 5 points and 5 rebounds while Manuel Bernal did not contribute on the offensive end but helped his team with 8 rebounds.

The Revenge vs. 5 Guys 1 Cup
DIVISION 2

The Revenge edge out 5 Guys 1 Cup in a close game. 61-55

Max Andrade finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds for The Revenge.  Aaron Ford scored 13 while Hassan Ahmed finished with 10 points.

Jose Vasquez scored 15 points and  led 5 Guys 1 Cup in scoring. Dre, Castro and Josh rounded off the top 4 scorers with 10 points apiece.  Alex Hernandez scored 8 points.

Fab 7 vs. Benchwarmers
DIVISION 2

Randy Sam connected on 2 three-pointers and finished with 11 points but still wasnt enough as the Benchwarmers fall to Fab 7, 44-33.

Spencer Stueve led the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds while Fabian Armas finished with 11 points, 10 boards.

Randy Sam scored a team-high 11 points and his 2 assists led all players. Joey Dua finished with 8 and his 2 three-pointers tied for a team-high.

Fly High vs. UKnow
DIVISION 2

Fly High led by 12 points with 17:45 left but UKnow wouldn’t give up as Jason Trinh & Byron Woods led the comeback. Trinh penetrated the lane and found open teammates for layups to help his UKnow team comeback from a double-digit first half deficit  as UKnow defeat Fly High, 39-35.

Jesse Lubben scored a team-high 8 points for Fly High while Chris Hodgman scored 7 points and recorded 6 rebounds..

Byron Woods led all UKnow players with 11 points ,  Chris Johns  scored 10 points to go along with 6 rebounds. Anthony Cockrell was the third leading scorer with 9 points and Jason Trinh logged 5 points and 3 assists.

Warriors vs. Diehard
DIVISION 2

The Warriors show glimpse off their playoff season and run Diehard out the gym, 50-24.

Adam Merjil had his best performance of his IBL Career as he led his team with 11 points. Kenny  scored 10 points and pulled in 9 rebounds   while Lester Cole finished with 6 points and 2 boards.

Miguel Larios and Armando Uranga both scored 6 points apiece. While Gabriel Salazar and Ernie Hernandez finished with 4 points each.

Quiksilver  vs. Eagles
DIVISION 2

Quiksilverstruggled while defending the sharpshooting Eagles team, but managed to snag a 63-59 win in OT , as several new faces showed up for veteran team, Quiksilver.

John Dang and Kenny Lee led the way with 13 points apiece. Dang, the team’s MVP when they won the Season 2 championship, mostly sat out in the 2nd half allowing his new running mates to get acquainted with the team.Brandon Kinard scored 14 points while Lionel Brown logged 9 points, 4 rebounds. Harry Yooh scored 8.

Eric Imperio made his début for the Eagles  scored a team-high 19 points going 5-10 from behind the 3 point line. Richard Vasquez scored a 14 points while Spencer Hersch logged 9 points, 5 rebounds.

 

Western Conference

Double Dribble vs. Happy Hour
DIVISION 2

Double Dribble take care of business over Happy Hour to open up their season, 69-62

 

Diahnte Pickett led all scorers  with 24 points and pulled in 5 rebounds while Derrick Pickett recorded a double double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. The Dynamic Duo of the Pickett brothers led the way for Double Dribble. Setting up the Pickett’s was PG Jesse Jimenez who finished with 8 points and 4 assists.

On the opposite end, Reuben Medina scored a team-high 21 points with most of his scoring coming in the 2nd half. Moore led the team with 5 rebounds. Ben Bonja scored 12 while Player #0 added 12 points and 4 rebounds.


H.A.M vs. Toon Squad
DIVISION 2

The Toon Squad took care of business early, and defeat H.A.M by 30, 61-31

 

Chaz Haymond scored 15 points for  Toon Squad. Chris Lee assisted Haymond with the scoring load and finished with 11 points while Lawrence King and AJ Truko finished with 8 points apiece.

On the opposite end, Oleg Resendez scored a team-high 11 points Mundo Herrera led the team with 4 rebounds and finished with 4 points.  Jason Harvey was the second leading scorer and finished with 7 points.

Cali Raisins vs. Wet Bandits
DIVISION 2

The Cali Raisins opened up their 3rd season with a win over Rookie Team  Wet Bandits with a , 56-54 win.

The Wet Bandits led by as many as 6 points late in the game and the resilient Raisin squad bounced back and stole the game.

Nigel Leos led the Wet Bandits with 18 while Brandon Parham added a 14 points. Jeff Akune scored 10 points but the Wet Bandits struggles from the line was magnified as the Wet Bandits shot 3-for-9 from the charity stripe.

Dominic Cortez scored 22 points while Jordan Ramos added 14 points 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Kevin Tung, and Matt Virata scored 7 apiece for the Raisins.

Brea Jr. 7:30 vs. Dream Team
DIVISION 2

Dream Teamwon bragging rights with a 74-38  win over Brea Jr.

 

The Dream Team had a very potent and balanced scoring attack all game, 4 players finished in double figures and everyone seemed to be involved offensively.  Leading all scorers was Malcolm G who finished with 14 points, Justin Benson and AJ Miles both finished with 13 apiece while Brandon Taylor rounded out the top 4 with 12.

Jacob Kang led the way for Brea Jr. and finished with a team high 12 points Max Chung was the only other player near double figures as he finished with 8 points.
