Week 2

After completing its inaugural season with the Pantera Legends coming out as the first champions in the divisions history, Division 3 of the Inland Basketball League has elevated to a new level for season 6. It is no longer considered a weak division with teams lining up to compete in pursuit of the championship.  The defending champions Pantera Legends have gotten a tremendous lift in the scoring and rebounding column with the addition of C/F Anthony Barajas, he has been the recipient of the POW award for Week 1 and 2.  With the departure of the Minnesota Tenderloins, the division is slowly unraveling with teams worthy of contending for the ultimate prize. The Bombers recorded a huge win in Week 1 but ran into the young UKnow V.2 team in Week 2. The Justice League had a chance to hand the champs their first lost but had trouble closing the game out and fell to the champs.

Pantera Legends vs. Justice League

DIVISION 3

Coming back from a 13 point deficit, the Pantera Legends defeat Justice League 54 – 51 in a thriller, with last seasons MVP Dylan Liebelt rattling in the game winning three-point shot as time expired.

The Pantera Legends were led in scoring by Anthony Barajas  he finished with a team high 21 points and 7 rebounds. Dylan Liebelt was the second leading scorer with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. GM Richard Hak rounded out the top 3 scorers with 8 points and 3 rebounds and 9 assists.

John Robel led the way for the Justice League,  Robel finished with 10 points and 6 boards. Mark Sy-Santos assisted Robel with the scoring load and finished  with 9 points and 3 rebounds. Justin Nguyen rounded out the top 3 scorers, he finished with 8 points and 3 rebounds.

Dirty Homies vs. Primetime

In a high scoring match-up, between two teams with different styles of play, the Dirty Homies rally behind and balanced attack and a superstar performance from Jimmy Huynh (21 Points, 7/14 from 3-point range) and capture a 61 – 57 win over Primetime.

Jimmy Huynh led all scorers for the game with 21 points for the Dirty Homies. Chuy Contreras assisted Huynh with the scoring load and finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Mario rounded out the scoring trio with 17 points and 3 rebounds.

DJ Romasanta  led Primetime with 20 points, 5 rebounds , assisting Romasanta was the sharpshooter Kevin Lim, Lim finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 4/7 from 3 point range. Justin Flores  rounded out the scoring trio with 10 points and 2 assists.

UKnow V.2 vs. Bombers

UKnow V.2 took care of business defeating the sharpshooting Bombers squad 59 – 53. UKnow  held of a late rally by the Bombers to come away with a 6 point win. If UKnow V.2 would attempt to play some serious defense those would become a perennial threat in the division.

Jimmy G. led all Bombers scorers  with 29 points and 6 rebounds. Jose Vasquez assisted Jimmy G. and finished with a near double-double 10 points and 9 rebounds. Blue rounded out the scoring trio with 9 points.

On the UKnow v.2 side of things Robel Kevorkian led all scorers with 17 points and 9 rebounds,Josh Johnson was the second leading scorer with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Desean Collins and Albert  finished with 8 points each.
