Dynasty wins their 3rd Championship in 4 Seasons

With their 3rd championship in 4 seasons looming in the balance Dynasty made sure  the defending champions Do Work did not get in their way of accomplishing their goal.

Dynasty began the day in the semi-final round; they squared off with a young STAT team who had defeated them a few weeks before this match-up.  The veteran Dynasty team got off to a HOT start sinking basket after basket  thanks in large part to the play of Derrick Pickett who helped Dynasty close the game early in the second half; and helped the squad advance to the championship game.

Like Dynasty, Do Work  began the day in the Semi’s matched up with a young Fly Society team whom they had defeated earlier in the season by a narrow margin, so revenge was imminent in this game for Fly Society. Although Fly Society was out for revenge they could not contain Do  Work’s F Kenneth Ubom as he exploded for an outrageous amount of point to guide his team to their second consecutive championship game appearance.

The championship game was set after Dynasty and Do Work took care of business in the Semi’s. The game had a lot riding on it seeing that these are the only the only division one teams that have won a championship (Dynasty 2 Do Work 1).  Dynasty also had  revenge on their mind due to Do Work’s incessant trash talking in  Week 3 where the two heavy weights met when Do Work escaped with a 55-53 victory.

The closest Do Work ever got was 32-35 at the half.  Dynasty led for the majority of the game and countered every Do Work run. They looked like a possessed team out there deflecting passes, jumping in the passing lanes, diving on the floor for loose balls they wanted it more and it showed. I could see that Do Work was discouraged after the Dynasty went on a run to start the second half.

Dynasty got out the gates quickly in the second half scoring five quick points and as the second half went on the defensive intensity rose, Do Work had sloppy possessions and no post presence to limit the rebounding and inside scoring of Dynasty’s big man Dewayne O’Neal.  The entire Dynasty squad contributed on this championship game victory

Dynasty controlled the pace of the game and got whatever shot they wanted. I thought they would relax after the took a comfortable 4th quarter lead  but Dynasty player Marcus Pringle would repeat after every made Dynasty basket ” Lets get a stop”  and his teammates  did just that.

A 63-50 Dynasty was the final result of an excellent championship game from all participants.
